Chancel Choir

A Note from

Our Director -

Dr. Wallace Hinson

We have had a wonderful 2025 in the Chancel Choir!

We are composed of twelve committed and gifted singers who continue to inspire me each week with their contribution to worship. I am so grateful for them, as I know the congregation is!

Our Choral Scholars, Caitlin Bayles, Bella Reulbach, Ananda Muñoz Salas, and Angel Alvarez are a true blessing to the church. Their talent and dedication to music are so greatly appreciated by everyone.

We have a wonderful schedule of music for this upcoming Advent and Christmas season. On Sunday, December 7th during 11:00 AM worship, the Chancel Choir along with Emese Vas, violin and Karen Bergmann, cello will present “Laudamus Te” a beautiful service of Lessons and Carols composed by Jacob Dishman.

St. Augustine once said “those who sing pray twice.” Singing has been a vital part of worship from the beginning of recorded time. The marriage of beautiful music and profound texts is so important in our worship.

Would you like to be a part of praying twice?

The congregation of Cornelia UMC does a good job of this from the pews (thank you!) but please consider making a deeper commitment to worship by becoming a part of the music program. Whether you are an experienced singer or just getting started, we would love to have you join the choir!

Please see me or one of the choir members for details if you'd like to consider joining.

Thank you for the opportunity to participate in worship with you. I look forward to it each Sunday!

Blessings,

Wally Hinson
